Here’s another Mothers Day offer, this time from Shutterfly. They are offering 20% off all photo books for Mothers Day. Offer expires on May 5th.
Shutterfly has posted an interesting interview with Cindy S, winner of their Gallery Photo Book Challenge, on their Storytelling blog. In it, she talks about how she made her beautiful winning book, which is a family history created for a close friend and about branching out from pre-made templates to full digital scrapbooking techniques.

Photo books make a fantastic gift for Mom on her special day. There are so many different themes that you could use. A book about the grand kids’ last year, a family history photo memory book or a little family brag book would all make perfect gifts. So why not take a little time to gather some family photos and make a photo book for Mom?
Don’t forget that you can use moreĀ than just photos in your book. Other paper items can be scanned and included in your books. Artwork created especially for her by the kids or grandkids would make a great addition to a Mother’s Day photo book.
Also, try searching for a couple of beautiful ‘Mom’ quotes on a quotations web site and include it in your book. Or you could even find a poem about mothers to include. Use an attractive cursive font and pair it with an appropriate picture or photo. Make a photo book that uses pretty pastel colors for backgrounds and the cover. You can use a plain cover but one thing that I think works well is to use a background on a custom cover. I like to do this in Picaboo especially, because there are so many beautiful backgrounds available that have been created by other users. You can use the same background on the front, back and spine of the book, then add a photo and title to the front.
