Which Company Should you Use to Make and Print your Photo Book?

A whole host of companies that can help you design and print your photo book have sprung up in the past year or two, so it can be difficult to choose the right one for your project. There are two main types of photo book publishers:

• Companies who offer photo books as part of a range of digital photos and photo sharing services. These companies often have a variety of other products, like calenders, posters, coffee mugs, t-shirts etc. manl also offer free photo storage and sharing services. Shutterflyis a good example.
• Companies who specialize exclusively or primarily in photo books. These companies do not offer photo prints and are not designed to be photo sharing web sites (you can usually share your books though). Picaboo
  is a good example. This type of photo book publisher tends to have more book options, especially specialized and high-end covers and printing options.

The photo book market is pretty competitive, which is good news for you. Prices are pretty similar, no matter which type company you choose, so you can pick the one that works best for you. Expect to pay $30-$35 for 8.5×11 photo book with a die-cut cover and 20 pages. Costs for additional pages after the first 20 can vary though, so look out for that if you are planning to make a lengthy photo book.
